to whom it may concern,

Dear Spring, are you, or aren't you? Stop confusing me. Spring rain, I get it. Spring snow, maybe--as long as it melts quickly. But all day long snow storms? No. That is not the spring I know and love. Please get yourself together or we are through, and I will fill my daydreams with thoughts of my summer love.

Dear Children, I am sorry that sometimes when daddy is gone I don't feel like cooking. I know that
peanut butter toast + banana + steamed broccoli + a piece of cheese is kind of a funny dinner.

Dear Icecream Man, it's 50°. If your $5 icecream bars out of your creepy van don't tempt me when it's 90°, I certainly won't be buying one today.

Dear 100s of Seeds that I'm afraid I killed....I am SORRY! Please don't be angry, and promise me you'll sprout soon. I had no idea it was going to snow soooooooo much. I know you can survive light frosts, but please don't die on me. oh please.

Dear My Children's Pants/Shirts/Shoes/Socks, why do you always end up on the table/counter?

Dear children, please keep your pants on.

Dear  It's Kind of a Funny Story, where did you come from? I had never heard of you until you popped up on the Netflix front page. What an excellent movie you were! Thank you.

Dear Our Giant Tree, I am so excited that you are finally budding, and will soon be bearing leaves to shade us from the scorching summer sun.

Dear Scorching Summer Sun,
our giant tree is budding, you can come out now.

Dear Handful of Chocolate Chips + Almonds, bless you.

Dear mustard, gold, copper, bronze, baby poo, and cat vomit, you are my favorite colors right now. What is wrong with me?

Dear Boy, thank you for drawing me so accurately, with 1 foot of hair.

Dear People who are looking at the houses for sale in our neighborhood, please be awesome people.

Dear people with stinky feet in yoga, why do you always stand by me?

Dear Laundry Room, I'm sorry for constantly throwing things in/on/around you and quickly closing the door. I suppose it's time I put a little more effort in to you.

Dear Friends, I am compiling a list of classic must watch movies.....there are some really big titles I have failed to watch in my lifetime. (Star Wars (gasp!), Steel Magnolia, Citizen Kane, etc, etc).
Please feel free to add your must watch and classic movies to my list if you like.

sincerely yours/your friend/much thanks/lovingly,
sheena.

Isn't it great to see how our kids see us? Love the boy's drawing. I too am not pleased with the snow, however it appears to have let up, so maybe I can forgive and forget. I sure hope your seeds didn't die. I totally hate cooking when Ian isn't home too. Not sure why one person not being there makes such a big difference, but it does!

Movies I LOVE:
High Society (oldie but fabulous)
Walk the Line
Dan in Real Life (not so much a classic, but one of my faves)
Stranger Than Fiction (please tell me you've already seen this!)

My hair never looks that amazing.

Spring really is toying with us. I am not planting anything until I see a week of sunshine.

Movies....
Sleepless in Seattle
While you were sleeping
Pretty in Pink
E.T.
Penelope( I know it is newer just so cute)
Hope you post the final list of what you have put together.

OMG...your hair is fabulous! It is still snowing where I live as well. Today is our first sunny (yet freezing) day in weeks. I love the subject of movies...
Cold Comfort Farm
The Thin Man (so witty)
Somewhere in Time
Shaun of the Dead (doesn't remotely match the others but I love it)
Happy Day.

Dear Sheena's one line letters,
You are funny and clever - thanks for making my morning better.

...and on the movie front, I'm not much of a movie watcher (too short of an attention span), but if you're looking for something you can watch in small doses - "My Family." It's a British sitcom that is full of clever/dry humor - so if that's your kind of thing, I HIGHLY recommend it! :)

I'm with you on the weather. I'm pregnant and due in August and was so hoping to get out early and get everything done before I'm huge and swollen. Mother nature is not agreeing with my plan. Your seeds might be totally fine. On the garden show this weekend they seemed to make it sound like things are okay as long as temps don't drop real low and they shouldn't. Snow is fine it's the low temperature that aren't.

Your blog is divine! Here is my list of movies you must watch: Zepherelli's Romeo & Juliet, Dying Young, Reality Bites, Little Women (with Susan Sarandon, Winona Ryder, etc...), The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally, Shakespeare in Love, Se7en, Bridget Jones' Diary, Good Will Hunting, Dead Poets' Society. This list, off the topmof my head. Happy viewing!

Girls just want to have fun

Don't plant before May 15th no matter what anyone says and start all your seeds inside-- or start them May 15th outside - you will still get carrots and corn and cucumbers and zucchini, beans, by starting them in May

Sorry but Spring in Utah is awful :( But the summer is so beautiful maybe it is worth it!

i took a film class a few semesters ago and we watched citizen kane. i was worried i would hate it but i actually really liked it! and as far as movies people haven't seen, they may not be considered classics but i'm that girl who hasn't seen the most epic movies most people have. for instance, hook. still haven't seen it. count of monte cristo too.

thoroughly modern millie (julie andrews)

the scarlet pimpernel (anthony andrews)

Wow, I feel "comment-y" today! I forgot to add these to my FB comments...North and South (BBC), Sense and Sensibility (Masterpiece classic), Emma (Masterpiece classic), Daniel Deronda, Wives and Daughters, Cranford, Lark Rise to Candleford (skip season 1- you won't be lost and it's slow), and Downton Abby. These are all British period films and just awesome. You'll love them. I'm so addicted.

Jonah's representation of your hair is incredible. I saw your new FB pic and that's what I thought of when I saw it before I even scrolled down to see that it was the next photo. I would die for your curls. You are adorable.

Jarom looked at me like I was lying when I told him that it IS Spring. He said, "yeah, but it's winter."
I confessed to my next-door neighbors that I planted seeds like a month ago. They got a good laugh out of it. Those seeds are gone. Luckily there are a gazillion more in the packets. Do you have more??
And I really love the picture, so funny.
