june, 2010
dear June,
welcome.
I am so happy you are finally here.
May was.....well......kind of a disappointment.
She just rained. and rained. and rained.
June, I hope you have better weather in store for me. There are so many things I look forward to--so many things that last June did very well, and I hope you can live up to her high standard.
I decided to make a little list of all the fun things I want to do while you are here, so you know what to expect. Thanks June, I think we'll have fun together.
love,
me
June 2011 Wish List
-Go camping. I am going stir crazy!!! must. get. to mountains. soon. hopefully very soon.
-Farmers Market!!! Aaaah!!! I can hardly take it! Only NINE more days. I have been counting down since...well....since I got my 2011 calendar and wrote it down.
-Early morning runs. As much as I hate waking up early, I LOVE starting a run just as the sun is coming up over the mountains.
-Eat a fresh tomato. And then another.
-Eating s'mores. (see first item on list)
-Make ice cream.
-Stay outside playing until the sun is down.
-The Pool. oh the pool.
-Plan a road trip (for July!)
-Make jam. And popsicles.
-Go camping again and eat more s'mores.
what do YOU want to do in June?

BLUEBERRIES! It's numero uno on my June list every year. Have you been to a Pick Your Own blueberry farm? DO IT! The kids love it, and it's$10-$12 for a gallon of nickel sized plump, tart, delicious (not like those bitter waxy things we buy at the store...I can't...I WON'T go back to them!) blueberries. One for me, one for the bucket, one for me, one for the bucket, two for me...
meet your new best friend. Click on your state, then click the fruit you want to find. Both blueberries and grapes are easy for the kids to do. Making your own grape juice is sooooo fun and sooooo goood! Enjoy!
You. Are. Welcome.

Blueberries = 1 more week. I can't wait.
I agree, there is something magical about June. This June...I'm getting married. I hope the rain stays away and I pray for beautiful sun rays as we say I do right by Lake Michigian...
Love these pictures. Especially the first one. so cute!
In June, I plan on getting up early, packing my car up and my kids and taking them cool places. Dinosaur monument, Cove Fort, Bridal Veil Falls, etc.
We are also going to barbecue a lot and spend loads of time out on the lawn.
.. get to see some of my 'greats' when they come home to Montana... always a fun time!
goodness i love the farmers market downtown too! so excited for that. and boating. and mostly just warm sunshine.
Ooh Farmer's Market. Totally forgot it starts so soon. Seriously it feels like it's March in Utah because we really haven't had any warm weather until the last 2 days.
omeegosh. how fun are y'all?! i was looking forward to my son's swimming lessons as we do every year...
but now i'm looking forward to lots of other cool stuff. thanks banananutmeg for the blueberries suggestion.. i think i'll schedule a trip out to edom texas next weekend!
and i have been wanting to go camping with my boys since forever! so i look forward to that... but not in june... whenever we can! :)
that relay race looks really cool!
*i love summertime*
@ Faith-be sure to call your local farm and find out when they are harvesting. If there was a late frost, the season could be a week or two later, and if it's really hot, they'll usually only allow picking first thing in the morning (early early, like sunrise...it's worth it though!)
take a box or giant bowl to take your berries home in, they keep their buckets at our farms, here.
The Farmer's Market
Bruges Waffles
Sun Valley
Bikes rides (lots and lots of bike rides)
Hiking
S'Mores (although we already started)
Picnics
Swimming
Reading outside
Deer Valley Concerts (that starts in July though)
Night walks
CSA
Yard Work...Warm weather has been so late this year
I think I want to do everything on your list! I love June and all of the outdoor activities! We did do s'mores already and they were fantastic!
