friday feet

Whoa! Friday Feet has been MIA for quite some time!
I've been gone, now Erin is gone, and really, all my feet have been doing is training training training....

So....speaking of training.
Two things:
1. Wasatch Back Fever has hit. Everywhere I go, I hear people talking about it...I am so excited!! Over 12,000 runners this year.....will you be there?? Just wondering if any of you are doing it too.....let me know if you'll be there! We can meet up--I'll be holding a long stemmed rose.

2. Music. I love to load up with some new tunes before I run. What do you suggest?? I'm not soooo much into the hiphop/dancejam/blackeyed peas scene....I kind of like to rock out when I run...you know?? Tell me your favorites!!

darn, i'm too pregnant this year to run it. but it sounds like you'll have plenty of company! wow, more and more people keep running this thing. probably because it's so crazy and fun.

i always love a good arcade fire "wake up" pick-me-up when i feel like i'm lagging.

Hope your shiny new shoes help you climb that mountain!

anything with duane allman in it. like live at filmore east or delanie and friends featuring eric clapton

or if that's too much for you, what about marina and the diamonds? she's got a fun beat to her.

i'm always looking for suggestions because i don't really do the hip hop scene too much too.

Cool! I am doing the ragnar relay out here in D.C. this September! Sounds like the same race, just a different place (by the way, I found your blog through my friend Erin in Hawaii and I love it! Keep posting yummy recipes!)

For up-beat music I like Depeche mode, Enrique Iglesias, Juanes (o.k., I love Latin beats!) or sometimes when I run in the countryside I like quieter things like Collective Soul, Colbie Callait, or Jack Johnson. Depends on the mood or how steep the hill is!

Best of luck in your race!

My two favorite running albums...
Cloud Cult (a local Minneapolis band)- Happy Hippopotamus
and
Coldplay- X&Y

Both are upbeat and you can usually find me dancing along my running path to them.

I love to upload new songs, but one that I've had on my ipod for awhile, that still motivates me is: Bon Jovi's We've got it going on.

Have a great weekend!

Check out Jay Sean! His music is pretty catchy, and I'm not overly into the whole hiphop thing. And I have to put a shoutout for my all time favorite group ever, in the whole wide world, times a million. The Veronicas! Check out their new stuff, like Untouched and This is How it Feels, not hiphop but you can totally rock out to it, trust me, I do everyday.

For my summer runs last summer, I'd zone out to Jack Johnson and Monkey Majik (they're a Canadian/Japanese group). For something more upbeat I'll put Clazziquai (Korean R&B? They have a wide variety of music)

for my runs i'm loving:
float on by modest mouse
reign of love by coldplay
that's not my name by the ting-tings
and
music for a found harmonium by celtic fiddle festival (odd, but strangely fun to run to)
